Images sell, and documents answer the questions that stop people buying. minipim keeps both with the product they belong to.
Uploading and ordering images
Open a product (or a variant, or a content page) and find the Media section.
- Drop files onto it or click to choose them.
- Drag to reorder.
- Star an image to make it the hero — it’s always shown first, and it’s what your storefront and connectors treat as the main image.
Variants have their own Media section, so the Navy variant can show navy photos while the product shows the range.
Alt text
Every image has an Alt text field. Write what the image shows, not the product name again — “Oat sweater, folded, showing ribbed cuff” helps both screen-reader users and search engines. If you sell in more than one language, alt text can be written per locale.
What to upload
Upload the highest-quality original you have. minipim stores originals unmodified and doesn’t create thumbnails; your storefront or image CDN makes the sizes it needs, so a big original means sharp images everywhere. The uploader takes images, video and PDFs.
Spec sheets, manuals and templates
Documents that answer a specific question — an installation guide, a safety data sheet, a size chart PDF — work better as a file attribute than as one more gallery item:
- Ask whoever manages your product types to add a file attribute — say
installation_guide— to the family. It can accept one file or several, and can be limited to PDFs. - On the product, upload the document into that field and give it a label.
Your storefront then gets “Installation guide: install.pdf” as a named field and can show it exactly where customers look for it.
Good habits
- Set the hero on every product — it’s the image every channel uses first.
- Keep lifestyle and detail shots in a consistent order across a range.
- There’s no central media library yet, so manage images from each product.
