Model your products once. Publish them everywhere — with a per-channel readiness score that shows exactly what each surface still needs before you ship. New attributes are data, not migrations.
No. 01 The schema
What other PIMs call product types, minipim calls attribute families — groups of typed, localizable, channel-scopable attributes that products attach to. Text, measurement, money, select, richtext, media. The schema is the product. Product types & attributes
Define a field in the UI or over the API. No migration, no deploy, no schema-change ticket waiting on engineering.
Every write through the admin or the API is checked against the product's family — types, rules, units, locales — so a bad value is rejected with a clear error instead of landing in your catalog.
Every change emits one of 75 typed events. Webhooks deliver them to your storefront, and the audit log records who made them. Nothing is bolted on.
// how minipim actually stores values: per locale and channel { "title": [ { "locale": "en_US", "channel": null, "value": "Cedar Crew Sweater" }, { "locale": "fr_CA", "channel": null, "value": "Pull Cedar" } ], "price": [{ "locale": null, "channel": null, "value": { "amount_cents": 14800, "currency": "USD" } }], "net_weight": [{ "locale": null, "channel": null, "value": { "amount": 0.42, "unit": "kg" } }] }
No. 02 Channel readiness
A merchandiser completes a product's attributes; a per-channel score shows exactly what each surface is missing — before you publish, not after a rejection. How readiness works
Your wholesale feed needs a case weight; your web store needs a description; a marketplace feed needs a GTIN on every variant. Each channel has its own required list, and each score is computed against it.
Readiness lists exactly what's missing — per locale, and per variant for barcodes — so gaps get fixed in your catalog instead of discovered as a rejected listing.
Edit a product and the BigCommerce and Shopify connectors push the change; webhooks tell your own storefront. Your catalog stays the source of truth.
No. 03 Honest comparison
The PIM category went enterprise and never came back. minipim is the one the rest of us should have had all along — open source, an afternoon to stand up, free to start.
No. 04 Connectors
Connectors subscribe to the events your mutations emit. minipim pulls from and publishes to BigCommerce and Shopify, and feeds any headless storefront through the REST API and webhooks. Maintenance-heavy marketplaces are managed for you in Hosted.
No. 05 AI agents
Connect Claude, or any MCP client, through the minipim MCP server. It finds incomplete products, reads each family's schema, and fills the exact gaps the readiness score flags — and it is instructed to report a missing measurement or identifier rather than invent one. Every write lands in the audit log. Built-in drafting and translation are on the roadmap.
